In 2015, two metal detectorists discovered a hoard of Anglo-Saxon jewellery and coins in fields near Leominster. Despite much experience in the legal reporting and handling of such finds they decided to not follow the usual route. Little did they expect such a costly decision.
Chair of Herefordshire Museum Service Support Group - essentially the Friends of the county Museum service and assets – Denise will talk about the discovery, the timeline, the treasures and their importance to updating history. The story rolls on. There will also be an opportunity to handle replicas of the treasures.
