David is an advanced driver Examiner for the Institute of Advanced Motorists, having been a member of the IAM and Herefordshire Advanced Motorists for over 20 years.

His career of 36 years, was as a Firefighter, beginning in Hereford  and finishing as Chief Fire Officer of South Wales Fire and Rescue Service. This was followed by 9 years as Chief  Commander of St. John Ambulance, Wales.

His talk/presentation will be a brief history of the IAM, followed by a description of what the IAM offers, together with some of the basic principles of advanced driving.
